This is Awkward

So I started this blog with every intention of cranking out one to two posts a week about various discipleship related topics. However, obviously I have hit a lull in my content creation. Two very important reasons (excuses) for that hiatus.

First, the election. As we approached the presidential election on November 3rd, I decided I had to take a news and social media break. I was getting so angry at so much going on that for my spiritual health, I had to unplug. I stayed away from posting because I did not trust myself to keep in step with Jesus Christ in my words.

Obviously, as some have not been able to accept the results of the election, that process has continued. Hopefully though, we are near the end. I pray that all my Christian brothers and sisters will remember that we should not make idols out of either political party, and we should ESPECIALLY not make idols out of politicians. (If that offends someone, then maybe they need to check their heart. It might be conviction more than offense they feel.)

My other reason (justification) is a writing project I have in the works. I am putting together a discipleship material that I pray will be of use by disciples and disciple-makers alike. Frankly, I have not found a disciple-making material that I like for various reasons. (Maybe I will write a post about why later.) I am writing my own, and we will see what happens. Honestly, I hate writing because I am always second-guessing myself. So I try to only second-guess myself one-project at a time.

However, a case of COVID-19 suddenly leaves me with more time on my hands. I praise God that my case is thus far mild. I know many others who have not been so fortunate.

Thus, I will try to get back in the habit of writing. If nothing else, this practice helps me crystalize my own thoughts, and maybe along the way it helps someone else. Who knows?
